Project 1 – Envelope Cushion Cover:
Start from scratch and learn to sew using a modern sewing machine. Learn how to thread it, wind a bobbin and sew in a straight line and make a cushion cover whilst doing so. As a bonus you will also be able to show off your wonderfully finished seams, as you will also learn to sew French seams.
Project 2 – Reversible tote bag:
Take your skills further and make a tote bag. Practice sewing straight lines and inserting straps. For an added challenge, why don’t we make it reversible? A favorite with my younger students, quoting them – “Yay, I have made TWO bags”.
Project 3 – Reversible drawstring bag:
Sew more straight lines. Practice does make perfect, as there are 10 different pieces to sew together. Learn to sew a “tunnel” to thread thru the drawstring and make a base for the bag so that you are able to store more of your sewing goodies.
Project 4 – Cosmetic Pouch:
Learn to insert zippers and find your way around different sorts of interfacing. You will walk away with a fully lined zipper pouch that has no visible seams.
